Equine-Assisted activities include therapeutic riding, therapeutic driving, interactive vaulting, and equine-assisted learning (EAL). These activities have therapeutic value, but are not led by a licensed therapist. Equine-assisted activities are designed to meet a client’s therapeutic goals (social engagement, grip strength, etc.) by using riding, driving, vaulting, or EAL.
EAL is different from other equine-assisted activities. It uses natural horsemanship principles to encourage personal growth and leadership development. EAL sessions can be unmounted groundwork or include riding depending on the abilities and goals of the client.
